Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Message on International Day of Yoga 2025
My dear brothers and sisters,
On June 21, 2025, as we celebrate the 11th International Day of Yoga, I extend my heartfelt greetings to yoga enthusiasts across India and the world. This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” reflects India’s timeless vision of harmony between humanity and nature, uniting us in our shared quest for a healthier planet and a healthier self.
Yoga, an invaluable gift from India’s ancient tradition, is more than a practice—it is a way of life that nurtures the unity of mind, body, and spirit. It fosters inner peace, strengthens physical and mental well-being, and connects us to the consciousness of oneness with all living beings. As we face global challenges, yoga offers a path to eliminate contradictions, reduce stress, and embrace a holistic approach to health that benefits both individuals and our planet.
This year, as we mark a decade since the United Nations declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga, we celebrate its transformation into a grand global festival. From the serene banks of Dal Lake to iconic landmarks worldwide, millions will join in practicing yoga, embodying the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world as one family. I am particularly heartened to see the enthusiasm of our youth, who are embracing yoga and Ayurveda as powerful tools for wellness, spreading India’s wisdom to every corner of the globe.
The theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health” reminds us that our well-being is deeply tied to the health of our environment. Through initiatives like Harit Yoga, we combine yoga with tree plantation and eco-conscious actions, nurturing both our bodies and Mother Earth. I urge each one of you to participate in events like Yoga Sangam in Visakhapatnam, Yoga Connect in New Delhi, or local sessions in your communities, and to plant a tree as a symbol of our commitment to a sustainable future.
Let us make yoga a daily practice, not just on June 21 but every day, to foster peace, harmony, and resilience. Together, let us inspire the world to embrace yoga’s transformative power, building a healthier, happier, and united global family. Come, join this movement, and let us make the world healthier through yoga.
Jai Hind!
Narendra Modi
Prime Minister of India
